My name is Nika and I just started skating this year January 2006. I'm 16 years old, not exactly the earliest age to begin skating but better late than never! I'm currently in Freestyle 4, working on more revolutions for my camel spin, more height for my loop, less awkwardness for my toe loop (and they say this jump is one of the easiest, I beg beg beg to differ) and not over-rotating my flips. I can already do an Axel on land though (hooray!).
So far, I've never been in a competition because I was involved in another commitment (the last one being a musical and current one because of a price increment at the rink that also threatens my continual of lessons). I've taken ballet and music before, so I hope that helps me to appear more artistic in a competition and leave me to just try to perfect my techinal elements.
If anyone has any tips on skating, that'd be nice and much appreciated! Thanks.
The sky's the limit!
